  • Dear Lisa Jo,

I just wanted to write to you and thank you for a job well done! My chesterfield is unusual due to the age (well over 100 years old) and the wood carvings over the back. It is very dear to me as I inherited it and it is admired, Anyway I just wanted o say that you went out of your way to help me select appropriate fabric and I know just the physical work in doing such a heavy piece was daunting.

Your skill in doing all the custom tacks, etc. is much appreciate and I would have no hesitation in recommending your work, as I have, I just love my chesterfield and thank you again!

    Sincerely,

    Janet Craig
  • One of my favourite places in the Danforth area is "Princess Perfect", the upholstery shop of Ms. Lisa Joe Moore. I enjoy seeing what newly completed work is in the window when I pass by. I remember the pleasure we had when we saw the first of thirteen pieces she did for us – a really shabby little love-seat, sitting so smartly there. Odd times, I have seen her work-in-progress and watched a piece being built up from the bare wood through the various layers of materials and fabric before the grand finale.

Working with her is a pleasure. Respecting a client's wishes, she also contributes her own ideas. She has studied upholstery-design and can suggest touches to make a dated and rather plain piece look modern. We have acted upon her good advice and have not been disappointed.

She has a large assortment of fabric sample-books, but does not mind if clients supply their own. She has close connections with people expert in such things as wood-refinishing, carpentry-repairs on antiques and the making of the most comfortable down-wrapped cushions.

She has assembled a team of people in the shop who complement her work including a very trusted, experienced upholsterer, and helpers who pick up and deliver. She and her team work fast: one does not have to wait overly long for furniture to be returned. My husband and I think ourselves fortunate to have had so reliable, expert and pleasant a person with whom to entrust our once-delapidated, but now gorgeous furniture. It was a good day for us when we decided to locate her business in our neighbourhood.

  • Dear Lisa Jo,

Thank you for the little pillow you made out of my left-over green material. It adds a pretty touch and nicely ties in the colours of my room. That was a lovely surprise from you and I appreciate your work and thoughtfulness.
